LLOYD DEAN ‘LEFTY’ EVANS

Lloyd Dean “Lefty” Evans, 82 of Kimberling City, Missouri passed away peacefully in his home Thursday June 6th after a long illness.

Lefty was born on April 9, 1942 to Lester and Adine (Seitz) Evans. He graduated from Crane High School in 1960.

He married Sharon (Blades) on October 19, 1963 and they had one son, Greg.

In his early years Lefty managed the Crane MFA Exchange before embarking on one of his greatest adventures of starting his own business. With a small loan and an old truck, Lefty’s Pump and Drilling was started in 1966. Over the years, Lefty and Sharon worked together to make Lefty’s into a successful business that continues to this day. Lefty was proud of starting from the bottom up! He always maintained his humble roots, reminding his family that hard work pays off.

Lefty was one of the original board members of the Stone County National Bank and served on the board until the bank sold.

Lefty was saved at an early age and was a member of First Baptist Church of Kimberling City where he aught Sunday school classes, and served as a deacon for many years, until his health prevented him from continuing. He was a member of Gideons International.

Lefty loved to fish and was an avid fisherman. Over the years he fished many tournaments with his special friend and fishing partner Marty “Peanut “Conrad.

Left was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Lora Jean Wilson and a brother, Randy Evans.

Survivors include his wife Sharon of the home, his son Greg and wife Angie of Cape Fair, Missouri. Three grandchildren, Morgan Chapman and husband Joel of Galena, Missouri, Sydney Roder and Husband Kyle of Crane, Missouri, Blake Evans and fiance Lexi of Crane, Missouri. Three great grandchildren, Waverlee and Archer Chapman and Tyson Roder and his special caretaker, Danielle. Six nieces and one nephew.

Lefty was witty and always had a funny story to tell. If you knew him well, you can bet he had a story about you.

He will be loved and missed by all who knew him.

Funeral services were held, Monday June, 10, 2024 in the Crane Fist Baptist Church Crane, Missouri. Burial will be in Crane Community Cemetery under the care of Westrip Funeral Home, Crane, Missouri

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until service time at 12:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Gideons International or Samaritans Purse.
